Installing confidence in lift installations.

When purchasing a new vehicle lift it is important that you choose a supplier that offers the installation as part of the total cost of the lift. In addition, choosing an equipment supplier that has a proven track record of consistent safe and approved work should be of high priority when deliberating on the company you wish to work with.

All garage equipment suppliers and servicing companies within the trade must work to extremely strict standards which are set by the BSI (British Standards Institute) and these standards are known as BS 7980:2003. These standards dictate how vehicle lifting equipment (excluding mobile column lifts) should be installed in the United Kingdom and outlines the correct procedures for performing a safe installation. It’s clear to see why many service engineers including our very own consider it the ‘lift engineer’s bible.’

Bullworthy’s are members of the GEA (Garage Equipment Association) which is the governing body for the sales, installation and servicing of garage equipment in the United Kingdom since 1945. The members of this group follow a strict code of practice outlined by the GEA and are recognised for their commitment to these polices and for conducting their work to the highest standards possible. All of Bullworthy’s service engineers are GEA accredited which signifies that the engineer awarded with this accreditation has undergone extensive skill and theory tests to ensure their work adheres to these high standards set by the GEA.

Paul Williams, Service Manager of T.R Bullworthy’s Ltd provides some advice on choosing a service provider to install your newly purchased equipment:-

Ensure ahead of time that the company who will be installing your vehicle lift have GEA accredited engineers. By doing so, you will be safe in the knowledge that the engineer performing your installation will have an excellent understanding of the rules and regulations and will be able to follow the correct guidance procedures set out by the lift manufacturer.
