Moving from their cramped location in East London to a purpose built designed facility on Woolwich Manor Way, was always going to be exciting and challenging.
When Bullworthy were asked to design their workshop with 10 service bays, A.T.L. and dedicated geometry bay, with placement areas for ancillary equipment, they realised that the design would have to be project managed from day one. Drawing on the experience of their dedicated Projects Team, Bullworthy set about finding what the client wanted, what they needed and the vision they had for their new facility.
With construction experience in-house, Bullworthy went about designing concealed routes to run services for oil, air and water. The projects team liaised with the clients I.T. department and electrical contractor in order to maintain a “clean wall policy”.
Wall to wall cabinetry was key in designing a workshop that was clean aesthetically, but more importantly, it had the future proofing that will enable their Technicians to maintain a tidy working environment. Cabinetry features included, oil, air and water, available to hand at the point of need. Integrated I.T, and electrical outlets which also included 3 phase charging for their Hybrid vehicles all added to the functionality. Bullworthy’s design also included provision for the deposit of waste materials and with the inclusion of tall cabinets, areas were created for waste oil drainers to be neatly stowed when not in use. All in all, many unique features were incorporated, that only comes from understanding the products and the client’s vision.
Rotary two post lifts with integrated 13amp power outlets as well as the facility for compressed air, were all part of the project design in keeping each work area free from trailing leads, making work-space, work safely.
Working closely with the Architect and alongside the Principal Contractor, Bullworthy’s dedicated projects team were able to implement the project plan and meet the expectations of the client. The result being a workshop that everyone involved, is proud to have played their role.
